Pat Sheffield
Inspiration Statement:
Dreams and plans to study and develop as an
artist have followed Pat Sheffield throughout her
life. Returning to college later in life to
study art and art history was a major force and
change in direction for her artistic life.
Because of this, new attitudes and confidence to
explore the artist within developed.
Pat has a B.S. in Art Education from UAPB, MS GTC
UALR, and has taught high school art for 14 years.
Teaching art to elementary, junior high and high
school students has created a depth of understanding
and appreciation of the need and value of art to all
people.
Pat is strongly influenced by impressionism and
surrealism. Her personal art goals are
centered on the quest for understanding of spiritual
encounters with nature through art and to
share them with others. Her philosophy is that all
have the innate need to create art in some form and
to live this experience through their art or the art
of others. We must respect, appreciate and nurture
this need to create in oneself and others.
